Me, my husband and two daughters loved our time at Basetxe. The view from the pool and terrace is stunning. The house is gorgeous and kitted out with everything you could possibly need. The beds are really comfy too. I can’t fault it! We even got to see a family of wild boar potter around the grounds while we ate our dinner on the terrace. Jacqui is a great host too. We will be back!

We all love staying at Bastexe, the secluded location is a true ’switch-off’ home away from home. Even when the weather is on the wilder side, we always feel safe and secure in the lovely stone cottage, tucked into the side of the hill, protected from the weather.

Après un accueil chaleureux par Jacqui, la propriétaire, découverte de cette superbe propriété. La villa tout en pierres est située au milieu de pins, figuiers, oliviers et chênes. La piscine en contrebas est grande et bénéficie d’une vue dominante sur toute la vallée. La rénovation de la villa est d’excellente qualité, entre modernité et cocooning. L’équipement ne souffre d’aucune critique. Il y a tout et plus (!) pour rendre le séjour parfait. Je recommande vivement cette location au rapport qualité / prix parfait !!

Fabulously secluded farmhouse with a good sized pool. This place is calm and tranquil with a fantastic view. The house has a lovely feel with cool marble style floors, windows and doors can all be thrown open to let the smell of summer & fig tree in. It is very well equipped with all the essentials and some lovely touches, like iPhone charger stand & nice soaps. The pool feels a good size for swimming and has a view of the mountains, hammock under the trees for relaxing with a book, shaded terrace for a long leisurely lunch. Our children (3 & 6 years) loved this place, exploring the terraces, collecting treasures, making dens and hours in the pool. (Our small children benefited from the warm swim suits we had taken because the pool, (water 20 degrees) feels cool to little ones when air temp is 30 degrees). The hill setting allows you to enjoy the heat and sun with a little breeze. There are plenty of day trips, pretty villages and markets close by. Fayence is 20 minutes away with large supermarket and Lac de St Cassien about 15 minutes beyond that with lots of water activities. We had a very warm welcome & first breakfast from our hosts. It is nice to arrive somewhere not searching in the dark for a key! Thank you Jacqui and Alex for sharing this gem.

We have just spent a marvelous week in this gorgeous house. It is not just that the house, garden and pool are so perfect, but all of the amazing little details that really make it. Also, the kitchen is more than fully equipped and cooking could not be more of a pleasure. Can't wait to go back!
